So I got to Wal-Mart (I know I know why fight the crowds) to take my girls to get their Teacher and GF a gift for Christmas. It is loud and crowded but I have to get it done. This is their last week at school and my only free day. So we are actually doing great, got everyone a gift. We go by the toys and the girls want to look. Why not? I'm done with my shopping and they might give a clue to what else they want on their list. Its way to crowded to get my cart down the toy isle so I park it on the outside.
We finish looking and I come out to find my cart GONE! WTH.....I look around and go up and down and don't see it. I'm PISSED because #1 I DON'T wan't to go thru the whole store again to get the gifts and #2 a few of the gifts we got the last one. I go to the service desk and ask if any carts had been brought up. They said no but one kind employee helped me search for my cart. To no luck it was gone! Someone had to of grabbed it not knowing it was not theirs and pry didn't realize this till they paid. So there we go walking thru the crowded Wal-Mart to get the gifts AGAIN! I was happy to be home. We got in our jammies and watched some Christmas classics. So how was your day?
So yeah its been since the election that I blogged. The month of
November started out great, it was going well for my family and I.
We finally got the outside trim of our house done. It was a baby blue,
I don't do blue! The neighbors didn't either I found out because when
it was done they all comment on how it looked so good, no longer an eye
sore. WTF, no one told us, we didn't pick out the blue. It was the
owners before us. lmbo
My sister M and I have our Birthday on the same day but we are a year apart. Her and her boys came down and we threw a big Birthday bash at my house. It was so fun!
I got allot of great gifts and at work they threw me a party. But the
best gift of all was from my hubby. A 2009 Chevy Tahoe LTZ!!! She is a
beauty!! It was sad to say bye to my 9 year old Dodge Durango, but
hubby sold it to his uncle so at least its in the family. (yes I'm
sappy like that) My SIL asked how come not a car? I told her I feel
like I'm going to suffocate in a car, I don't know why. With a bigger vehicle I got more room. PLUS we travel allot and the girls are still
growing, I need more space period!
The next week after my Birthday things took a turn for the worse. Its not me, hubby our my girls. But someone close to me, her life changed for the worse. And her actions have affected my family, it has strained and sadden us all. We are still going thru this and it will only get worse come Dec. 24th. Those that are my dear friends I will tell you, but not post it. The whole world doesn't need to know.
But this put me in a slump so I have not blogged. And then my husband, MIL and SIL are having a hard time with the Holiday's coming. Hubby misses his dad even more.
We did have a nice Thanksgiving, hubbies family came over and my sister M.
My parents were not in the mood to celebrate. But my parents are doing a bit better and seem to be in the Holiday Spirit now.
Christmas has snuck up on me. I feel like its a rush this year. Like I don't have time to sit back and enjoy it, its just flying by. And with money tight its even more stressful. Its so sad the state our Economy is in right now. I told my gf that people are sad that they cant buy lots of gifts but isn't Christmas about being with your family and Jesus? Shouldn't we just be happy to have food on the table, a roof over our head, a job and everyone healthy!? I know I am! Hell come Jan. my husband may be out of work. He is at the FreePort McMoran Copper mine and they have been laying off and shutting down big time! The next cut is in Jan. and that will be Management and Salary, and that is my husband. So ALLOT of stress and worry going on in my house.
One good thing coming up is tradition. My mom and grandma used to make tamales at my moms house.
I loved to help, loved the smells in the kitchen and the feel of the Maza. My girls even helped when they were little, I remember Mo used to sneak the Maza and eat it. lol Its been awhile because with Hubby Military we were gone allot. My grandmother has passed, my mom is sad due to events that happen to make them. My MIL is also sad due to her husband passing away a few months back to make them. So that leave me, yes I have stepped up and will now carry the tradition on at my house. I have ordered my Maza, made the red Chili and now going to do the meat this weekend. I think this got everyone excited now because they are now all coming to my house on the 20th to help make them. I have a big kitchen so it makes it nice and we will all be comfortable. Like I told my sister, "This will be so wonderful, no telling if we can all get together again and to this next year." So yeah I can't wait!
Well that is my update, hope you all are having a great weekend. And that if you have fallen on hard times my prayers are with you
A fellow blogging friend DoriDori asked for a pix with our blog. I happily took on the Challenge and here I am!
So yeah I live in a small town. If I never saw the world and traveled and lived in wonderful places like Japan, Guam or Germany moving back to my hometown would of been a big NO NO!
But in doing so coming home to a slower pace and being around all our family is not as bad as I though it would be.
Its nice to have family drop by. Its nice that my girls can grow up around family.
BUT..........
Yes I hate there is only one major store to shop at...Wal-Mart. *yuck*
Yes I hate there are no good clothing stores.
Yes I hate that I can't run to the store in jammies and no make-up cause I WILL run into someone. lol But the city is only a 2 hour drive so it gets me out of town.
But its so fun and family like when we have festivals.
You get to go hang out and run into everyone and play catch up and enjoy good food and fun. We went to the Salsa Fest last weekend.
Locals are able to make their homemade salsa and enter it for a contest. We pay $4 for a big amount of chips. Then we go to the tables and get our lil container of free salsa from each contestant. We found a nice place to sit in the grass and started to taste all the 27 samples we had. We found 2 favorites and cast our vote. It was fun, plus I LOVE salsa. I keep saying I'm going to enter mine, but get to lazy! lol
Yesterday we went to the County Fair.
It was a nice overcast day so standing in lines for rides was not bad. We ate goodies like carmel apples, corn dogs, roasted corn and my favorite Kettle Corn! I was in line and next, the man said "We gotta pop some more up, it will be a 3 min. wait ok?" I was all for it cause I wanted a fresh hot batch! OMG it was so good and hot we almost finished off our large bag. I'm not one for carnie game, you end up spending way too much money! But my girls wanted to play and I'm a sucker for spoiling them. They both won! They were so happy.
Now I look forward to next weekend.
Its our 2008 All Year Bulldog Reunion. All the years get to go to the fun filled weekend. And then each year (if ya have someone leading it) does their own special thing. Our class is going to meet up at the bowling alley. I can't wait, its going to be fun! And the cool thing is we all can go. My mom, dad, sisters, hubby, his sister and other family. We are all graduates of Safford HS. That is what makes it nice. I like that hubby and I can go and he doesn't feel out of place. He knows everyone there like me. They are having a dance too, lol now that will bring back memories. Hubby and I at the HS dance at the Gym. Who would of thought when he asked me to dance (I had a major crush on him) he would end up being my husband. So going to go shopping, gotta get a new outfit ya know! Oh and get my hair and nails done. Yah baby! GO BULLDOGS!
Don't ya just love compliments?
Don't ya just love to get one on a bad day?
They make you feel all warm and fuzzy.
Everyone should get and give them. They are free so why not. Why not make someones day better. That is what a parent did for me today. It was a blah Monday, I felt fat in my jeans AND my face has been breaking out. WTH I thought I left Acne at the door back in HS!
So I call the mom's daughter up. As she waits she tells me her brother thinks I look like Eva Longoria. *blush* I tell her no way do I look like her, she is drop dead gorgeous! The mom tells me I do, that she totally agrees with her brother. I'm blushing and fumbling with my papers because I'm so embarrassed (other people in the office hear and are looking at me now). I tell her thank you for making my year! lol My phone rings and I'm thankful for the interuptions.
So I don't know, I think its the Latina in me that gives us the resemblance. What do you think?
Yesterday I cleaned house and did laundry. I also took out my Halloween boxes to check out what decorations I had and if I needed to buy more. Of COARSE I needed more. This is one of my weakness. I love to buy Halloween and Christmas decor!
So this morning I spent it decorating the inside of the house. When it cools down outside I will then do up the yard. Here are some pix I took with my iPhone.
Bella needed her area dressed up too!
I just bought this beautiful pumpkin, its my favorite

Its going to be a long time before any healing will take place. And there will always be a broken piece of our hearts that went with him. One day at a time is all we can do. And just cherish and remember the wonderful times we had with him.
