good thinking ana!
Hmm. That's interesting.

Thanks for the info. I have passed this along to a few people who are wondering if anyone ever visits their corner of the Vox world.

Ooooh awesome. I'm gonna have to try that :) I actually DID try it yesterday after I read your post ... but I was doing the "embed" thing which -- as you say -- just puts that empty box there -- which really isn't very pretty ;)

Thanks ;)

That is pretty cool. thanks for the tip.

I'm glad some are finding this useful.

LC: Yeah... I'm not very fond of the box around the embed feature either. I wish we didn't have boxes around images, period. BLAH.

very helpful!
I've been using stat counter for a long time. I love it! It's definitely the best one I've found! And you don't have to use it on every post if you want to use it on Vox. I've got ONE public post on my blog, and the counter is embedded in it. That way, it records every hit to my main page. Very handy! :)
Good to know! Thanks! =)
I've thought about doing this. I was gonna try to come up with a code that would work in the links section, so I wouldn't have to add it to every post...then it wouldn't be hidden, but if I made it password protected, I use my own site to host it with...Hmmm, very interesting! If I have a breakthrough I will definitely let it be known!
tried it, hope a more elegant solution comes soon
just had a thought..could you put code in a customer banner?
hmm, too bad you have to register. la, I am so lazy.
i've got a vox....again. lol.

Oh THANK YOU for this post! I've tried several times to put code from statcounter.com in my posts but I kept getting the "invalid security" error. I just followed what you said and it works great, I mean it's there and it's hidden. I don't know yet if it's tracking, but I'll know I guess in a day or so. :) Thanks!
Is anyone else finding that there is A LOT of blank space where the invisible counter code is? Bonitainpink, you say that you do not use the "embed" feature, how do I make sure I am doing the same? I don't see anything about "embed" in statcounter.
Don't use the "embed" feature to add the statcounter code. Just add it to the end of your post. I don't think it adds that much blank space, if you ask me.
Thanks! :)
Thanks. I use statcounter along with sitemeter on my "main" site. I've been trying to find a way to use either on my Vox page. I take it there is no other option other than inserting the code into each post.
Okay, I did exactly what you said and the code shows in my post. I switched to the HTML only version (I know wordpress.com doesn't allow scripts, I don't know about vox), and I'm still showing the code at the bottom of the post.
Make sure you remove the
<!-- Start of StatCounter Code -->
and
<!-- End of StatCounter Code -->
from the code and it should work.

Thanks.

I've kind of got a way to have a "hidden" statcounter without installing it on every post: make a new post, call it "stat" or "test," it doesn't matter, mark that post private, and install your statcounter. As long as it's on the front page, it works.

Which version are you using? I don't want to risk using scripts if we really aren't supposed to. Some blog providers don't allow javascript for security reasons. Does anyone know Vox's policy?

Thank you so much! Finally, you've helped me figure out how to install a statcounter. I love Stat Counter, by the way.

Thought I had it figured out, but now this is showing at the bottom of my posts:

<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" src="http://www.statcounter.com/counter/counter.js">

Any idea how I can get rid of it?

Ok I'm new to vox .... how would I put a counter on my main page??? I don't care if it's visible or not but aside from posting one post with the code on it and somehow leaving it there i don't understand how to do it ...

already registered for a statcounter account ...

any help would be very appreciated ...
