Ever since the cold weather finally arrived to San Antonio a few weeks ago, I've been in this "hot chocolate" kick lately. I either like to drink it early in the morning when I wake up or at night when Joe and I are snuggling on the couch. Warm and Hot drinks in the winter time is lovely. Keeps ya warm. =) This weekend I wanted to try to make some Mexican "Atole" but I didn't have all the ingridients and some of the stuff I did have, I didn't have enough of so I'll have to make it after payday. *hehe* My Mom showed me how to make it but I forgot. So I had to look up the recipe. LOL I'm sure it's different. Maybe I'll just call her and get the recipe before we go shopping. =) Next year, I'd love to try to make some of these Cocoa's in a Jar found via Not Martha. Don't they look delicious? And so cute too! I wish I had found this page earlier so I would have enough time to make them and send them out to family or friends. It's a great gift idea. Maybe next time. Here's a simple recipe for those of you that love Hot Chocolate too, that I found online earlier to make minty hot chocolate. I think I may try making it this weekend to change it up just a tad bit. 1 (1 ounce) envelope instant hot chocolate mix
1 fluid ounce peppermint schnapps
Directions
Prepare hot chocolate according to package directions. Stir in peppermint schnapps.

Thank you. ^__^ Sometimes hearing something nice works, too. I took a warm bath, and that helped a little. I wish I would just be crying over nothing but there's reasoning behind today. Meh. Hopefully, things will get better. I'll probably eventually write about what's going on in my Vox.

Ooooh...I love hot chocolate. I must try that minty hot chocolate...I just need to buy some peppermint schnapps. The last time I bought schnapps (peach) someone nearly drank it all. We were all drunk that night and when I woke up the next morning...I was like, whaaa where's my schnapps?! I had only a sip.

If you do make the HC in a jar a fun tip I did was, use them in the center of a cute Christmas plate. Add a nice candle and surround by homemade cookies. I did this one year and gave them out to friends and teachers.
And man something must be in the air! I'm not down but my Bitch side has been coming out! baahhhhaaaa! Ray needs to come home, being a single mommy for 5 months is wearing on me. I'm going to drink some HC now! lol
Cate: Is it like the "Abuelita" chocolate? They are "barras" of chocolate. So it might be the same thing. I just made some for my hubby the other night. I'm not big on having hot milk with chocolate. I have a hard time drinking cold milk as it is. And if it's hot, forget it! Fat chance! LOL Hubby loves it though. =)

I've been doing the same thing! except we use whipped cream instead of marshmellows, its like i forgot about those! I need to buy some. Anyways, my aunty made jars like those too but it's was cookie mix and the best freakin' cookies ever! That's a cute cute idea.
